Clouds, weather map symbols, weather tools

QuestionAnswer
Cirrus clouds are High, thin and wispy clouds. Fair weather.
Cumulus clouds are Mid level "cotton ball" clouds. Partly cloudy day.
Stratus clouds are Overcast low lying clouds. Precipitation.
Weather is composed of cloud cover, humidity, air pressure, temperature, wind direction and wind speed. (CHATW2)
What are the 4 types of precipitation? Rain, sleet, snow and hail
An anemometer measures Wind speed
A barometer measures Air pressure
A thermometer measures Temperature
An air mass is a large body of air that has the same properties as the surface over which it develops
A front is when Two air masses meet.
What are the 4 types of fronts. Cold, warm, stationary, occuluded
High pressure system Fair Good "happy" weather.High clouds.
Low pressure system Low clouds overcast "lousy" weather.
Air pressure is affected by Humidity (water vapor) altitude, and temperature (HAT)
A Meteorlogist Forcasts the weather
Weather Fronts generally move West to East.
Cumulonimbous clouds are the Thunderstorm clouds.
