| Divide | A ridge or area of higher ground that separates watersheds. |
| Gradient | A measure of the change of elevation over a certain distance. |
| Aquifer | A body of rock or sediment that stores groundwater and allows it to flow |
| Porosity | The storage space that is available in an aquifer. |
| Permeability | The measure of how easy water can flow through an aquifer. |
