Music vocabulary from marking period 1

Beat the steady pulse of music
Accent stress or emphasize
Dynamics how loud or soft the music is played
Tempo the speed of the beat
Duple meter beats that are grouped in sets of two (strong-weak)
Triple meter beats that are grouped in sets of three (strong-weak-weak)
Measure groups of beats written between bar lines
genre category, style, or type of music (be sure you can give some examples)
forte musical term that means to play the music loudly
piano musical term that means to play the music softly
allegro tempo marking - the music is played quickly
moderato tempo marking - the music is played at a moderate pace
