Nuclear fusion the process by which nuclei of small atoms combine to form a new , more massive nucleus the process releases energy.
Sunspot a dark area of the photosphere of the sun that is cooler than the surrounding areas and that has a strong magnetic field.
Solar Flares an explosive release of energy that comes frome the sun that is associated with magnetic disturbances on the sins surface
Prominence a loop of relitevly cool, incandescent gas that extends above the photosphere and above the sun's edge as seen from earth.
Corona the rarefied gaseous envelope of the sun and other stars. The sun's corona is normally visible only during a total solar eclipse when it is seen as an irregularly shaped pearly glow surrounding the darkened disk of the moon.
