Scientific Method

Steps and description

TermDefinition
State the problem Ask a question or identify a problem that you want to explore
Gather information Conduct research by using the internet (.gov, .edu, .org sites), looking in books, asking an expert, teacher, family member
Make a hypothesis a prediction of the outcome to your experiment at this level should be an If ..., then ... statement
Test the hypothesis by doing an experiment - must include a detailed procedure that can be carried out and reproduced
Analyze data make sense of what you found - critically assess the details
Draw a conclusion very specifically state what you found and what you might do differently next time
