| Apparent Magnitude | the magnitude of a celestial object as it is actually measured from the earth. |
| Luminosity | luminous quality. |
| Absolute Magnitude | the magnitude (brightness) of a celestial object as it would be seen at a standard distance of 10 parsecs. |
| Temperature | the degree or intensity of heat present in a substance or object, especially as expressed according to a comparative scale and shown by a thermometer or perceived by touch. |
| Main-Sequence Star | In astronomy the main sequence is a continuous and distinctive band of stars that appears on plots of stellar color versus brightness. |
| Astronomical Unit (Au) | The average distance from the Earth to the Sun.(93 million miles) |
