Scientific Method The steps a scientist takes to answer a question or solve a problem.
Pre-Observation/Research Using 5 senses. prior knowledge, and research to help form a hypothesis BEFORE the experiment.
Problem/Question The problem to be solved in the experiment.
Hypothesis An educated guess or prediction made based on research.
Experiment Following the steps of the experiment, using specific materials, and writing/drawing. observations.
Materials Objects used in an experiment.
Procedure The steps taken in the experiment.
Observations A description and/or drawing of what happened DURING the experiment using 5 senses.
Conclusion A reflection about what happened during the experiment. Was the hypothesis correct or not? Why?
