Heredity passing of physical characteristics from parent to offspring
Trait each different form of a characteristics, such as stem height or seed color
Fertilization a new organism begins to form when egg and sperm join in the process
Gentics the scientific study of heredity
Purebred the offspring of many generations that have the same trait
Gene factors that control a trait
Alleles different forms of a gene
Dominant Allele one whose trait always shows up in the organism when the allele is present
