Scientific Method

TermDefinition
The Scientific Method The name of the plan scientists use to solve a problem or answer a question
Step 1 (Choose a purpose) Ask a question that can be answered by gathering evidence
Step 2 (Research) Get advice and gather information that might help you answer the question or solve the problem
Step 3 (Develop a hypothesis) Make a prediction or educated guess about the outcome of the experiment
Step 4 (Plan and follow the procedure) List, in order, each step you will perform in the experiment. The follow the steps
Step 5 (Make observations) Collect data or information about your experiment and organize it in a graph, chart, drawing, model or paragraph
Step 6 (Draw conclusions) State what you have learned from the experiment
