Light Microscope Pg.51 Light passes through 1+ lenses to produce an enlarged image of a specimen.
Electron Microscope Pg.51 Forms an image of a specimen using a beam of electrons rather than light.
Magnification Pg.51 The quality of making an image appear larger than its actual size.
Resolution Pg.51 A measure of the clarity of an image.
Scanning tunneling microscope Pg.54 Uses a needle-like probe to measure differences in voltage caused by electrons that leak, or tunnel, from the surface of the object being veiwed.
Cell theory Pg.55 1. All living things are made of one or more cells. 2. Cells are the basic units of structure and function in organisms. 3. All cells arise from existing cells.
