Describe the difference between pure substances (elements and compounds) and mix
Term | Definition |

Pure Substances | a sample matter,either a single element or a single compound,that has a definite chemical and physical properties |
Compound | a substance made up of atoms or two or more different elements joined by chemical bonds |
Molecule | the smallest unit of a substance that keeps all of the physical and chemical properties of that substance |
Chemical Formula | a combination of chemical symbols and numbers to represent substance |
Subscript | a small number written to the right and slightly below a chemical symbol to tell the number of atoms of that element in the substance |
Mixture | a combination of two or more substances that are not chemically combined |
