| soild | the state of matter in which the volume and shape of substances are fixed |
| liquid | the state of matter that has a definite volume not a definite shape |
| gas | a form of matter that does not have a definite volume or shape |
| melting point | tempature at which a solid to a liquid |
| vaporization | process in ehich a liquid changes |
| boiling point | the condersion of a liquid to a vapor when the vapor pressure of the liquid equals the atomosbheric pressure |
| condersation | the change of state from gas to a liquid |
| freezing point | temperature at which a liquid changes into a solid |
| sublimation | the process in which a solid changes directly into gas |
| phase-change diagram | drawing that shows the reltionships among temperature and changes of state |
| plasma | a state of matter that forms when temperature when temperature are high enough to completely remove eletrons from the atoms to which they were bomb |
