Week 6 Weather

TermDefinition
Gulf of Mexico A large area of the Atlantic Ocean that is partially enclosed by land. It is located to the South of the United States and East of Mexico and brings warm ocean currents along the Southeast coast of the United States.
Atlantic Ocean The 2nd largest ocean that separates North and South America on the west from Europe and Africa on the East.
tropical describing a climate that is very hot and humid; describing an area of Earth that is near the equator.
temperate describes a climate that does not have extremes of hot or cold.
Pacific Ocean The largest ocean that is located between Asia and Australia and North and South America.
Celsius the metric temperature scale: Water boils at 100 degrees Celsius, and it freezes at 0 degrees Celsius.
fahrenheit is a scale on which temperature is measured. On the Fahrenheit scale, water is frozen at 32 degrees Fahrenheit and boils at 212 degrees Fahrenheit. 
predict To guess what will happen in the future. 
analyze To figure out what data or information means.
polar Having to do with the areas on Earth closest to the geographic North or South poles. Extremely cold weather.
