trophic level describes the position of the organisms in relation to the order of nutrient and energy transfers in an ecosystem, organisms that eat the same type of food belong to the same trophic level.
food chain a model that shows how matter and energy move through an ecosystem
food web a model that shows all possible feeding relationships in an community at each trophic level.
