Describe differences between pure substance(elements and compound)and mixtures
| Term | Definition |

| pure substance | a sample of matter, either a single element or a single compound, that has definite physical and chemical porperties |
| compound | a substance made up of atoms of two or more different elements joined by chemical bond |
| molecule | the smallest unit of a substances that keeps all of the chemical and physical properties of that substance |
| chemical formula | a combination of chemical symbols and numbers to represent a substance |
| subscript | a number written below and to the right of a chemical symbol in a formula |
| mixture | a combination of two or more substances that are not chemically combined |
