bacteria reproduce asexually
bacteria which cause things to rot are called decomposers
penicillin is an example of an antibiotic
fungi do not contain chlorophyll
fungi cannot photosynthesise
single celled fungi are called yeast
biotechnology is the use of living things, or parts of living things, to produce useful products
bacteria and fungi are used to make food, drugs , alcohol hormones and enzymes
agar used to grow microorganisms is called nutrient agar
bacteria and fungi are grown on a dish called a petri dish
