Where is the frontal lobe? The frontmost portion of the brain
The size of a vessel determines? Blood supply
Where is the parietal lobe? Behind frontal lobe, in front of occipital lobe.
Viscus means? What effect on blood flow? Thick. Slower blood flow
When exercising, your body gives off? CO2 (it increases)
Temporal lobe? Side of your head (temples)
Blood pressure depends on… How elastic the arteries are
The less elastic the arteries, the more blockages that reduce blood flow
Control group What's "normal" in an experiment
Constants What factors stay the same
Was does smoking do to the blood flow? Slows it down
What is a vaccine? A weakened form of a virus given so that the body can create antibodies that will destroy and remember it.
Immune systems first line of defense? Skin
What is immunity? Protection against pathogens
Specific Response? The body recognizes a certain pathogen and sends out antibodies to destroy it. Ex. measles
Occipital lobe? Back of brain.
Cerebellum? "Bell-like" part of the bottom of brain
Cerebrum? Is made up of ALL the lobes
Why don't antibiotics work against viruses? Viruses do not have a cell wall.
Parietal lobe? Behind frontal lobe, in the middle portion of the brain.
