golmerlulus 50 intrertwining capillaries(blood vessels) that projects into the bowmans capsule
bowman's capsul the covering around the glomerulus
renal corpuscle is both the glomerus & bowmans capsul
proximal tubule the first segement of the renal tubule (water and protein are absorbed here)
loop of henle the proximal convoluted tubule leads to the (it also absorbs water & salt)
descending limb fluid travels toward the renal pelvis
ascending limb fluid travels toward the renal cortex
distal tubule (water absorbtion) after the ascending limb comes
the collecting system consists of collecting duct, papilliary duct, minor then major calyx,ureter
collecting ducts individual nephrons drain here
papillary duct several collecting ducts converge to empty into a larger
minor then major calyx the papillary duct empties into
ureter minor and major calyx empties into
bladder storage of urine which holds about 1l of fluid
umbilical ligaments remenents of blood vessels in embilical cord. it suspends the bladder in place
rugae ridges inside bladder
ureteral openings ureters enter the bladder
urethra exits the bladder and carries filtrates away
prostate gland (sexual function) encloses the urethra. must be checked by age 50 by a physcian
internal urethral spincter inside bladder at the beginning of the urethra
external urethral spincter at the exits of the urethra
diuresis simply urianation final discharge of filterate
