What damage can detergents cause? Liver and kidney damage
What does sewage-contaminated water causes? Eutrophication
Reasons for recycling plastics? reduces the need to use oil, reduces the amount of plastic going to landfill.
Reasons for recycling paper? forest resources are abundant, adding recycled fiber to new wood fiber is a good way to stretch our forest resources. Also helps control waste disposal problems.
What enables a linear flow of energy through the ecosystem? The carbon cycle.
What can oil spills be very harmful to? marine birds and mammals, and also can harm fish and shellfish.
Why does deforestation disrupt the carbon cycle? The trees are no longer there to help purify the air.
What is the result of water pollution? Causes the quality of the water to deteriorate and affects aquatic ecosystems
Effects of acid rain? corrosion of metals (such as bronze) and the deterioration of paint and stone (such as marble and limestone).
What does over fishing causes? Number of marine life in the oceans and sea to drop drastically and will also lead to the extinction of many marine life.
