Earth's Physical Layers and Chemical Composition

crust surface layer of earth, composed of silicon, oxygen, and aluminum
mantle layer below the crust, made of silicon, oxygen, and magnesium
core center of the Earth, made mostly of metal iron
lithosphere physical layer that is divided into tectonic plates
asthenosphere plastic-like layer where Earth's plates move
mesosphere lower layer of the mantle
outer core made of liquid iron and nickel
inner core made of solid iron and nickel
