3.4 and 3.5 Vocab

TermDefinition
respiration The process by which cells obtain energy from glucose.
fermentation An energy-releasing process that does not require oxygen.
cell cycle The regular sequence of growth and division that cells undergo.
interphrase The first stage of the cell cycle.
replication In the next part of interphrase, the cell makes an exact copy of the DNA in its nucleus.
mitosis The stage during which the cell's nucleus divides into two nuclei.
chromosome double-rod structure
cytokinesis The final stage of the cell cycle completes the process of cell division.
