TermDefinition
Lysosme Small round structures that break down large molecules
Ribosomes Protein making sites
Cell Wall Supports and protects the cell;found only in plant cells
Mitochondria Provides energy for the cell
Nucleolus Called the "little nucleus";where ribosomes are produced
Nucles Control center of the cell
Cell membrane Controls movement of the liquid in and out of the cell
Chromosome Responsible for passing traits of the cells
Endoplasmic reticulum Transportation system of the cell; made up of the tube-like passages
Cytoplasm Clear thick, jelly-like substance
Choloroplast Contain chlorophyll; necessary for the photosynthesis and found only in plants
Vacuole Large;round;water-filled sacs in the cytoplasm; for storage
Nuclear membrane Protects the nucleus and allows material to pass in and out
Golgi Body packages and releases materials into the cell
