| Term | Definition |

| Measurement | A repeatable observation of a quantity that includes a number and a unit |
| Estimate | A reasonable guess at a quantity based on an observation |
| Precision | Refers to how detailed or exact a measurement is |
| Accuracy | Refers to the correctness of a measurement |
| SI System | Stands for International System. Has a base unit. Prefixes can be added. All fractions and decimals are powers of 10 |
| Length | the longest extent of anything as measured from end to end |
| Temperature | How hot or cold something is |
| Mass | How much matter is in an object |
| Volume | The amount of space that an object takes up |
| Displacement | The amount of liquid that rises when measuring liquid volume |
| Meniscus | Water in a graduated cylinder that has a curved surface |
| Density | Mass/Volume= Density. How closely molecules are packed together |
| Bar Graph | Uses vertical lines to show relationship among data |
| Line Graph | Uses lines to show relationship between 2 thins. Data changes over time |
| Pie Graph | Uses a circle divided into sections to display data. All parts must add up to %100 |
