Vocabulary for science quiz

TermDefinition
Scientific experiment An experiment designed to test the effect of one thing on another thing
Control Something that isn't changed, nothing applied to it
Variable Something that can be changed, can have something applied to it
Independent variable The treatment applied to the scientific items
Dependent variable What happens when the treatment is applied
Constants All the other variables in the experiment that are kept the same
Sample size The amount of times the experiment is repeated the exact same way
Data The information recorded during the experiment
Valid When the results of the experiment are valid there was only one variable that had an effect
Invalid When the results of the experiment are invalid there was more than one variable that had an effect
