Scientific Method
| Term | Definition |

| Empirical Evidence | The Observations, measurements, and other types of data that people gather & test to support & evaluate scientific explanations. |
| Theory | That Explanation for some phenomenon that is based on observation, experimentation, and reasoning" that is supported by a large quantity of evidence; and that does not conflict with any existing experimental results or observations. |
| Law | A descriptive statement or equation that reliably predicts events under certain conditions. |
| Investigation | A searching inquiry for ascertaining facts; detailed or careful examination. |
| Observation | The process of obtaining info by using the senses. |
| Hypothesis | A test-able idea or explanation that leads to a scientific investigation. |
| Independent Variable | In A Scientific investigation , the factor that is deliberately manipulated. |
| Dependent Variable | In a scientific investigation, the factor that changes as a result of manipulation of one or more independent variable . |
| Investigation | A Searching inquiry for ascertaining facts; detailed or careful examination. |
| Replication | 1 of the main principles of the scientific method. |
| Repetition | Repetition-Means to repeat the experiment, but not the same way, by the same person. |
