Chapter 1 vocab

Hypothosis An educated guess that answers your question.
Observation Something you find out about objects,events,or living things using your senses.
Experiment The use of scientific methods to test a hypothosis.
Variable Something that can change in a test.
Control Group A standard against which change is measured.
Procedures Step-by-step instructions for completing a task.
Indirect Variable The thing you change in an experiment.
Direct Variable The thing you are observing in an experiment.
Controlled Variable The things you keep the same in an experiment.
Model An object (idea) that represents other things.
Survey Questionares that are given to people who's answers are recorded.
Sampling Examining individuals to collect data.
