Chloride

what is the normal range of Chloride? 96-106 mEq/L
What is hypochloremia? an abnormally depleted level of the chloride ion in the blood.
What are causesof hypochloremia? nausea/vomiting, changes in acid based balance, gastric suctioning.
What are the symptoms of hypochloremia? increased PH, slow, deep breathing (trying to lower PH of blood), tetany, hyperactive deep tendon reflexes.
What are treatments of hypochloremia? correcting the underlying problem.
What is Hyperchloremia? an abnormally elevated level of the chloride ion in the blood.
What are the causes of hypercholemia? Diarrhea, kidney diseases, diuretics.
What are symptoms of hypercholemia? vomiting, Kussmauls breathing, weakness, intense thirst.
What are treatments of hypochloremia? hydration therapy, resolution of underlying cause - kidney impairment, medications, etc...
