| Calendar | A guide that organized days into months for the year which made predicting seasons easier |
| Sun Dial | An early clock that used the Sun to tell time |
| Constellation | A term that describes a pattern of stars |
| Light Year | The distance measurement light would travel in 1 year |
| Polaris | The "North Star". The star directly above the Earth's axis that never changes position in the sky |
| Orion | The name of the constellation that forms a hunter |
| Ursa Major | The name of the constellation that forms a bear |
| Big Dipper | The name of the constellation that forms a pan handle |
