Includes digestive, skeletal, reproductive, integumentary, and more systems.

QuestionAnswer
What is homeostasis? Keeping internal balance.
Homeostasis example: sweating to keep the same body temperature.
Levels of Organization: Cells, tissues, organs, and organ systems.
3 organs of the digestive system: stomach, large intestine, and small intestine.
3 organs of the reproductive system: testes, ovaries, and penis.
3 organs of the integumentary system: hair, nails, and skin.
What does a flexor muscle do? It flexs.
What does a extendor do? It extends.
What do bones make? RBCs.
What do bones store? Fat.
What is osteoporosis? Bones become less dense.
Diaphragm moves up: You inhale.
Diaphragm moves down: You exhale.
What are alveoli? Air sacs in the lungs.
Where are valves found? In the heart.
What do valves do? They prevent blood from going backwards.
What do ligaments connect? Bone to bone.
What do tendons connect? Muscle to bone.
Pulmonary circulation: Pathway of blood from the heart to the lungs.
Systemic circulation: Pathway of blood from the heart to the rest of the body.
Which heart chamber pumps blood to the lungs? Right ventricle.
Which heart chamber pumps blood to the body? Left ventricle.
Which heart chamber receives blood from the lungs? Left atrium.
Which heart chamber receives blood from the body? Right atrium.
Which part of the brain controls thinking and memory? Cerebrum.
Which part of the brain controls balance and coordination? Cerebellum.
Which part of the brain controls involuntary actions? Medulla.
What is the central nervous system? The brain and spinal cord.
What is the peripheral nervous system? Nerves off to the side.
What part of a nerve cell receives electrical impulses? Dendrites.
What is the autonomic nervous system? Involuntary actions.
Name the part of the female reproductive system where the fetus develops. Uterus.
What is the function of the testes? Produce sperm.
What is the function of the ovaries? Produce eggs.
