| Front | boundary between two air masses of different density moisture or temperature |
| Tornado | violently rotating column of air in contact with the ground |
| Hurricane | a large, swirling, low pressure system that forms over the warm atlantic ocean |
| blizzard | winter storm |
| Meteorologist | a person who studies the weather |
| Station Model | shows weather at specific location on Earth's Surface |
| Isotherm | a line that connects points of equal temperatures |
| Isobar | a line drawn to connect point of equal atmospheric pressure |
| Cold Front | occurs when colder air advances toward warm air |
| Warm Front | form when lighter, warmer air advances over heavier, colder air |
| Occluded Front | involves three air masses of different temperatures (cold, cool, and warm) |
| Stationary Front | occurs when a boundary between air masses stops advancing |
