| Tides | The regular rise and fall in the level of ocean water that take place twice a day. |
| Asteroids | Rock fragments of various shapes and sizes that revolve around the sun. |
| Comet | A loose mass of rock, ice, dust, and gases that moves through space as a unit. |
| Meteoroids | A fragment of rock that travels through space. |
| Meteor | A rock fragment traveling through space that enters Earth's atmosphere and burns up, producing a streak of light. |
| Meteorite | A meteoroid that reaches the Earth's surface. |
