Lesson 3 Using Space Science on Earth

TermDefinition
vacuum a place that is empty of all matter.
microgravity the condition of experiencing weightlessness.
space spinoff an item that has uses on Earth but was originally developed for use in space.
remote sensing the collection of information about Earth and other objects in space using satellites or probes.
geostationary orbit an orbit in which the satellite orbits Earth at the same rate as Earth rotates and thus stays over the same place all the time.
