ductus arteriosis bypass found in fetal pigs that prevents blood from entering the lungs
left atrium chamber that collects oxygenated blood from lungs
right atrium chamber that collects deoxygenated blood from body
right ventricle chamber that pumps deoxygenated blood to the lungs
left ventricle chamber that pumps oxygenated blood into the aorta and out to the body
aorta largest artery; carries oxygenated blood away from the body
pulmonary artery only artery in body that contains deoxygenated blood - carries deoxygenated blood from heart to lungs
pulmonary veins only veins in body that contain oxygenated blood - carries oxygenated blood from lungs to heart
posterior vena cava veins that bring deoxygenated blood to the heart
anterior vena cava veins that bring deoxygenated blood to the heart
hard palate bony anterior section of the roof of the mouth
soft palate muscular section of the roof of the mouth
nasopharynx opening that carries oxygen from the nose to the trachea
epiglottis prevents food from entering the trachea
trachea ringed tube which air passes into the lungs
tongue soft organ in mouth that aids in swallowing
papillae tastes buds found on the tongue
esophagus tube through which food empties into stomach
