Humidity The amount of moisture found in the air and any one time or place.
What are some sources of information that help forecast the weather? Observers, instruments carried by balloons, satellites, maps, charts, and computers.
What are some factors that determine the weather factors. Air temperature, air pressure, humidity of the air, amount and kind of cloud cover, amount of precipitation, and speed and direction of the wind.
What are the requirements of a line graph? Always has a title, two different axis, intervals always equal, label on each axis to describe information.
How do meteorologists use standards to measure? Measuring wind speed from 10 meters off the ground, and taking the temperature at the same time of day.
How does solar energy effect weather? The driving force behind all weather changes, darker and rougher surfaces absorb more heat, more gases in the atmosphere, the more solar energy that is absorbed heating up the air.
How does air pressure effect the weather? Air pressure is low as warm air rises.
How do clouds effect the weather? It decreases the amount of heat in the atmosphere by shading out the suns solar energy as well as providing all types of precipitation.
What would you expect on high pressure days? Clear and sunny skies.
What would you expect of low air pressure days? Cloudy skies with a higher chance of precipitation.
