Genetics and Punnett Squares

TermDefinition
Genetic Cross when you breed two plants or two animals to get more
Dominant Trait is the trait that you see when you look at someone. Physical characteristics such as: hair color, eye color, nose shape)
Recessive Trait A trait that is hidden (You do not see it when you look at someone)
Heterozygous Having different letters in your genotype
Homozygous Having the same letters for your genotype
Genotype 2 letters that represent the genes you have for one trait. (Examples: TT, tt, or Tt)
Phenotype what the two letters tell you about the trait (examples: TT = Tall, tt = short, Tt = Tall)
