| Leukocytosis | increase in WBC's, inlammation, infection, stress, over 11,000 |
| Leukopenia | decrease in the number of WBC's, bone marrow suppression, viral infection, less then 4,000 |
| Neutrophils | 45-75%, WBC with differential |
| Neutrocytosis or neutrophilia | elevated, due to inflammation, bacterial infection, stree |
| Neutropenia | decreased, due to viral infection, overwhelming bacterial infection, bone marrow suppression |
| Bands | immature neutrophils, 0-5% |
| Left shift | elevated neutrophils and bands, due to bacterial infection, NOT viral |
| Eosinophils | 0-8% |
| Eosinophilia | elevated, due to allergic reaction, hay fever, asthma |
| Eosinopenia | decreased, due to increase adrenal steroids, steroid therapy |
| Basophils | 0-3% |
| basophilia | elevation, due to severe hypersensitivity response, over 3% |
| Basopenia | decreased, due to corticosteroids |
| monocytes | 4-11% |
| monocytosis | elevation, due to chronic inflammatory disorders, infection, TB, over 11% |
| Monopenia | decreased, due to bone marrow depression, steroids, less then 4% |
| Lymphocytes | 16-46% |
| Lymphocytosis | viral infection, leukemia acute/ chronic, over 46% |
| Lymphopenia | decreased, due to bone marrow depression, less the 16% |
