Waves
| Term | Definition |

| Wave | Is a disturbance that moves through matter or space. |
| Transverse | It cause particles in matter to move back and forth at right angles. |
| Compressional | Causes particles in matter to move back and forth along the same direction in which wave travels. |
| Wavelength | The distance between one point on a wave and the nearest point moving with the same speed and direction. |
| Law of Reflection | The angles that the incoming wave makes with the normal equals the angles that the outgoing wave makes with the normal |
| Refraction | Change in a direction of a wave. |
| Diffraction | Bending of waves around an object. |
| Frequency | The wave is the number of wavelengths that pass by a point each second. |
| Opaque | Materials allows no light through. |
| Translucent | Material that absorbs light. |
| transparent | Material allows nearly all light to pass through. |
| Reflect | A light hitting an object and bouncing off. |
| Absorb | Take in or soak up. |
| Transmit | cause something to pass through something. |
