Wave
| Term | Definition |

| Wave | Is a disturbance that moves through matter or space. |
| Transverse wave | Is a wave that cause particles i matter to move back and forth in right angles to the directions in which the waves travle. |
| Compressional Wave | It cause particles in matter to move back in forth along the same directions in which the waves travel. |
| Wave Length | It is the distance between one point on a wave and the nearest point moving with the same speed and direction. |
| Frequency | Is the number of wave lengths that pass by a point each second. |
| Law of refliction | the angle that the incoming wave make with the normal equals the angle that outgoing wave make with the normal |
| Refraction | Is the change in directions of a wave when it changes speed as it travels from one material to another |
| diffraction | Is the bending of waves around an object |
| Opaque | not able to let light through |
| translucent | allowing light, but not detailed images, to pass through; |
| Transparent | allowing light to pass through so that objects behind can be distinctly seen: |
| Reflect | throw back (heat, light, or sound) without absorbing it |
| absorb | take in or soak up |
| transmit | cause (something) to pass on from one place or person to another: |
