compressional wave mechanical waves that cause particles in matter to move back and forth
diffraction Bending of waves around an object.
electromagnetic spectrum complete range of electromagnetic waves in frequency and wavelength
electromagnetic wave waves that can travel through matter or empty space
frequency The number of wavelength that passes and given point in one second,measured in hertz.
in fared waves electromagnetic waves with wavelenghths between one thousandths of a meter 700 billions
intensity amount of energy a wave carries past a certain area each second
law of reflection Waves made with normal to the reflection surface equals the angle of the reflection waves makes with the surface.
pitch human perception of the frequency and sound

transverse waves mechanical waves that cause particles in matter to move at a righ angle
ultraviolet waves electromagnetic waves withlenghts between 400 billionths and 10 billionths of a meter

wavelength Distance between one point on a wave and a nearest point moving with the same speed and in the same direction.
