Matter

QuestionAnswer
What are the three states of matter gas, liquid, solid
What is the difference between chemical and physical change Chemical is how matter can can change into a new kind of matter. Physical is how matter looks, feels, smell, sounds, and taste.
What is matter Matter is anything with mass that takes up space
Define volume, density, mass, weight, atom, molecule Volume is how much space matter takes up. Density is the mass of an object to its volume. Mass is how much matter is in an object. Weight measures how heavy something is.Atoms are the smallest part of an element. Molecules happen when two+ atoms join.
What unit of measure do we normally use to measure volume cm3/cubic centimeters
What unit of measure do we normally use to measure mass grams or kilograms
Explain how you read a graduated cylinder You put the water level at your eye level and then tell the amount of water that is in the graduated cylinder in millimeters.
What is curved water inside a graduated cylinder called meniscus
Explain why mass remains the same on a different planet while weight changes Mass is how how much matter is in an object which never changes unless the substance gains weight, looses weight or brakes. and weight is the gravity pull on an object which changes because every planet has a different gravity pull.
How do you find density mass divided by volume
how do you find volume LxHxW
What does cm3 stand for cubic centimeters
what does g stand for grams
what does mm stand for millimeters
what does cm stand for centimeters
Find the volume H=10cm W=5cm L=15cm 10x5x15=750
Find the density W=10cm H=5cm L=15cm Mass=1200g volume=750cm Mass=1200g 1200 divided by 750=1.6
Which is true about density A= Density is equal to the amount of mass in an object B= Objects with a lesser density than water will float C= density is a physical property B
A kind of mixture in which the different parts are very evenly mixed is called a... solution
Two or more compounds or elements together in the same place is called a... mixture

Use these flashcards to help memorize information. Look at the large card and try to recall what is on the other side. Then click the card to flip it. If you knew the answer, click the green Know box. Otherwise, click the red Don't know box.

When you've placed seven or more cards in the Don't know box, click "retry" to try those cards again.

If you've accidentally put the card in the wrong box, just click on the card to take it out of the box.

You can also use your keyboard to move the cards as follows:

If you are logged in to your account, this website will remember which cards you know and don't know so that they are in the same box the next time you log in.

When you need a break, try one of the other activities listed below the flashcards like Matching, Snowman, or Hungry Bug. Although it may feel like you're playing a game, your brain is still making more connections with the information to help you out.
