SPACE SCIENCES

QuestionAnswer
Rotation The spinning of a body, such as a planet, on its axis.
Day The time it takes a planet to complete one full rotation.
Revolution The motion of a body that travels around another body in space.
Year The time it takes earth to complete one rotation around the sun.
Season A division of the year that is characterized by recurring weather conditions and by earths tilt relative to the sun.
Equinox When the sunlight is equal on both hemispheres of the earth.
Solstice In one hemisphere the sunlight is at max amount and the opposite for the other hemisphere.
Satellite A body that orbits a larger body.
Gravity A force that pulls other objects with mass towards it.
