BUTTERFLIES go through complete metamorphosis and the pupa stage is called a what? chrysalis
MOTHS go through complete metamorphosis and the pupa stage is called a what? cocoon
What does Lepidoptera mean? scale wings
What are the differences between the antennae of the butterfly, moth and skipper? Butterfly--long with knobs on the end; Moth--feathery looking; Skipper--look like an upside down "J" on end
Most butterfly caterpillars will molt 4 to 5 times, and the stages in between the molts are called what? Instars
What moth cocoons are used to make fabric? silk moth
What silk-producing organs are used by moths and skippers to make their cocoons? spinnerets
