CARDIOLOGY Cardiology is the branch of medicine that deals with heart diseases and abnormalities.
Cardiologist A cardiologist is a doctor with special training and skill in finding, treating and preventing diseases of the heart and blood vessels.
Medical Condition: HYPERTENSION hypertension (High blood pressure) is a chronic medical condition in which the blood pressure in the arteries is elevated. Is when your blood pressure is 140/90 mmHg or above most of the time. Abnormally high blood pressure.
Medical Condition: CONGESTIVE HEART FAILURE (CHF) CHF is a weakness of the heart that leads to a buildup of fluid in the lungs and surrounding body tissues.
Medical Condition: CARDIAC ARRHYTHMIAS An irregular heartbeat is an arrhythmia (also called dysrhythmia). Heart rates can also be irregular. A normal heart rate is 50 to 100 beats per minute. Arrhythmias and abnormal heart rates don't necessarily occur together.
Medical Condition: PRIMARY PULMONARY HYPERTENSION (PPH) (PPH) is a rare disease. It is high blood pressure in the blood vessels of the lungs. A person with PPH has extra muscle in the walls of these blood vessels. That extra muscle makes it more difficult for blood to flow through them.
Medical Condition: CARDIAC BYPASS SURGERY coronary bypass surgery is a surgical procedure to restore normal blood supply to the heart by creating new routes for the blood to travel into the heart when one or both of the coronary arteries have become clogged or obstructed.
Medical Condition: VALVE REPLACEMENT Heart valve replacement is a surgical procedure during which surgeons remove a damaged valve from the heart and substitute a healthy one. 4 valves direct blood to and from the body through the heart: the aortic, pulmonic, tricuspid and the mitral valve.
Medical Condition: TRANSIENT ISCHEMIC ATTACK (TIA) a brief episode of neurological dysfunction resulting from an interruption in the blood supply to the brain or the eye for a brief period of time, sometimes as a precursor to a stroke. pt will have stroke-like symptoms in most cases for 1 - 2 hours.
Medical Condition: ENDOCARDITIS / PERICARDITIS Endocarditis is inflammation of the inside lining of the heart chambers and heart valves (endocardium). Pericarditis is a condition in which the sac-like covering around the heart (pericardium) becomes inflamed.
Medical Condition: MYOCARDIAL INFARCTION (another term for heart attack) A heart attack occurs when blood flow to a part of your heart is blocked for a long enough time that part of the heart muscle is damaged or dies. The medical term for this is myocardial infarction.
Service: IV THERAPY Intravenous therapy (IV therapy or iv therapy in short) is the infusion of liquid substances directly into a vein. The word intravenous simply means "within vein." Therapies administered intravenously are often called specialty pharmaceuticals.
Service: WOUND CARE / TEACHING Wound Care is a type of nursing involved with the treatment and care of patients with acute and chronic wounds.
Service: MEDICAL SOCIAL WORKER assess the psychosocial functioning of patients and families and intervene as necessary. Connecting patients and families to necessary resources in the community; provide psychotherapy, supportive counseling or grief counseling.
Service: SKILLED ASSESMENT Skilled Assessment is performed by our nurse to evaluate the residence, the patients, level of functions at home.
Service: NUTRITIONAL COUNSELING Nutritional Counseling is an individually designed service which provides education and assessment of the patients nutritional needs and food patterns appropriate for the patients conditions.ie. drug-food inter.
Service: INJECTION EDUCATION Injections/Teaching: our experienced nurses will review how medications are administered and teach the patient and/or caregiver during a one on one injection teaching class.
Service: PHYSICAL THERAPY Physical Therapy treats or manage a physical disability, malfunction, or pain by by physical methods like exercise, massage, hydrotherapy, etc.It helps improve or restore physical function and fitness level to make daily tasks and activities easier.
