Where does blood coming to the right side of the heart come from? The body & heart. Low in oxygen.
Where does blood coming to the left side of the heart come from? The lungs. Oxygen on Lt. side is high because the blood comes from the lungs.
What structures are used for blood entering the right side of the heart? Superior Vena Cava, Inferior Vena Cava, Coronary Sinus.
What structures are used for blood entering the left side of the heart? Pulmonary Veins.
Where does blood from the right side of the heart get pumped too The lungs by pulmonary arteries/trunk.
Where does blood from the left side of the heart get pumped too? The body & heart through the aorta and coronary arteries
What is the purpose of the conduction system? For contraction of the heart as one unit. It ensures that cardiac chambers become stimulated to contract in a coordinated manner.
What is the formula for calculating cardiac output? CO(ml/min)=SV(ml/beat)x HR(Beats/min)
What makes the S1 sound? Closure of the AV valves
What happens to the venricles when the AV valves are closing? Systole
What makes the S2 sound? Closure of the SL valves.
What happens to the ventricles when the SL valves close? Diastole.
Which sound is louder at the Apex? At the Base? S1 at apex, S2 at base
