| concave | a lens that curves inward |
| convex | a lens that makes smaller upright images |
| transparent | allows light to pass through it |
| opaque | allows little or no light to pass through |
| law of reflection | the angle of a light ray that hits a surface is equal to the angle of the light ray that bounces off it |
| prism | a piece of glass that refracts or separates white light into its band of colors |
| electromagnetism | the way in which electric and magnetic forces interact |
| red | color with longest wavelength |
