| Solution | A uniform mixture that contains a solvent and at least one solution |
| Solvent | A part of a solution present in the largest amount |
| Solute | A substance that is present in a solution in a smaller amount and is dissolved by the solvent |
| Concentrated Solution | Has a lot of solute dissolved in a certain amount of solvent |
| Dilute solution | Only a little solute dissolved in a certain amount of solvent |
| Acid | Compounds whose characteristic properties include the kind of reactions they undergo |
| Corrosive | to wear away |
| Indicator | a compound that changes color when contact with an acid or base |
| Base | Another group of compounds that can be identified by their common properties |
| Ph Scale | A range of values from 0 to 14. Expresses concentration of the hydrogen ions in a solution |
| Neutral | if the ph is 7 |
| Neutralization | Reaction between an acid and base |
| Salt | Any ionic compound that can be made from the neutralization of an acid with a base |
| Solubility | A measure of how much solute can dissolve in a solvent at a given temperature |
