Solution A uniform mixture that contains a solvent and at least one solution
Solvent A part of a solution present in the largest amount
Solute A substance that is present in a solution in a smaller amount and is dissolved by the solvent
Concentrated Solution Has a lot of solute dissolved in a certain amount of solvent
Dilute solution Only a little solute dissolved in a certain amount of solvent
Acid Compounds whose characteristic properties include the kind of reactions they undergo
Corrosive to wear away
Indicator a compound that changes color when contact with an acid or base
Base Another group of compounds that can be identified by their common properties
Ph Scale A range of values from 0 to 14. Expresses concentration of the hydrogen ions in a solution
Neutral if the ph is 7
Neutralization Reaction between an acid and base
Salt Any ionic compound that can be made from the neutralization of an acid with a base
Solubility A measure of how much solute can dissolve in a solvent at a given temperature
