A lamprey is what kind of fish? jawless
What is the job of the lungs? to take in oxygen and exchange it with carbon dioxide
Which meat eating reptile has a narrow head and pointed snout and spends most of its time in the water? crocodile
Describe external fertilization in fish. a female lays unfertilized eggs and a male drops sperm on them
What are traits of cartilaginous fish? they are strong swimmers, expert predators, and have oily livers
What kind of eggs help protect an embryo? amniotic egg
What are tadpoles? immature fogs or toads that live in water
What is metamorphosis? when an immature animal form changes to adult form

What is the lateral line? a faint line on a the sides of a fish's body that sense vibrations in the water
What do the gills do? a respiratory organ where the oxygen in the water is exchanged with carbon dioxide

What is the most common type of reptile? snakes and lizards
Which reptiles live only in New Zealand? tuataras
