| cone-bearing plants | evergreen plants that never have flowers and that have needles-like leaves |
| flowering plant | plants that grow their own seeds inside a flower |
| cotyledons | the seed leaves in a flowering plant |
| monocot | seed leaves with 1 food storage area |
| dicot | seed leaves with 2 food storage areas |
| woody stems | stems of vascular plants for example:trees and many shrubs |
| herbaceous | stems of vascular for example:grass,dandelions,or tomato plants |
| evergreen plants | plants that only produce cones not flowers |
| root | the part of the plant that anchors the plant and where all the water and minerals enter the plant |
| stem | the support system of the plant that stores food for the plant |
| bulb | a rounded plant that develops underground |
| leaf | the place where photosynthesis take place |
| photosynthesis | the process in which a plant turns sunlight into food |
