Law of independent assortment Pairs of alleles separate independently of one another during gamete formation
Monohybrid Cross that provides data about one pair of contrasting traits; 2x2
Dihybrid Cross that involves two pairs of contrasting traits
Incomplete dominance When an individual displays a trait that is intermediate between two parents
Codominance When two alleles are expressed at the same time
Continuous variation Seeing a variety of phenotypes on a continuum from one extreme to another
Sex-linked trait Trait determined by a gene found only on the X chromosome
