Ectotherm An animal whoe does not produce much internal heat
Fish An ectothermic vertebrate that lives in the water and has fins
Amphibian An ectothermic vertebrate that spends it's early life in water and it's adult life on land
Metamorphosis An animal's body under goes dramatic changes in form during it's life cycle
Tadpole The larval form of a frog or toad
Reptile An ectothermic vertebrate that lays eggs and has lungs and scaly skin
Bird An endothermic vertebrate that lays eggs, has feathers and a 4-chambered heart
Mammal An endothermic vertebrate with a 4-chambered heart and skin covered with fur or hair that feeds it's young with milk
Adaptation A characteristic that helps an organism survive or reproduce in it's environment
Homeostasis Maintain intnernal stability and balance
